Ginger Leigh Davis Vick (T'69) passed away Friday, October 23, 2009 at 12:25 a.m., after an 8-year battle with cancer. Her Mother, Ersellee ‘Leigh’ Moran Kendrick (T'48) and Stepfather, Douglas Kendrick (T'46) are both graduates of Tech.

| I have just learned tonight from David French that my dear friend, Ginger Leigh Davis Vick (Tech 1969) lost her fight with breast cancer on Friday. I am so saddened to hear this but I rejoice that she now rests with our Lord and Savior, no longer in pain. |

My stepdad was William Kobeck, principal of Tech from 1976 to around 1980 when he was transferred to East High School. He was a great man.
I remember many basketball and football games in Paris and Murfreesboro Tennessee when I was younger. Also, there were numerous games at Melrose and Northside along the way.
I can't forget the vault in the office and all of the items that he would confiscate. His assissant principal was Freeland Brown, a wonderful man. He did his job very well, and allowed me posession of the gym anytime that I wanted on my own. Those days are gone for good! Rest in peace Mr. Kobeck, you were well loved, no matter which school you served!

To the Class of 1969. Even today, I am still in awe over the response and attendance of fellow classmates, dear friends and teachers who attended this special occasion our 40th class reunion. It is because of each of you, this reunion exceeded our expectations. A lot of dedication and determination from a great group of people went into making this one of the best reunions ever.
Thank you Rita Collier Harrell, Maria Sorondilas Burkhardt, David French, and James Malone for allowing me to be a part of the 1969 reunion committee.
Thank you, Theresa Deckard Clinton and your young assistant Holly for decorating those fabulous Yellowjacket bobble heads. Thanks for the decorations, balloons and most of all the beautiful table in remembrance of deceased classmates. Thanks to Jim Barnett, his son JT, and Corey of the Meat n Cider Cooking Team for preparing and serving some great barbeque with all the fixings.
I want to thank Charlotte Logan, Pat Nykodem Malone (70), and Barron Wilkes who served as our greeters, and Maria Sorondilas Burkhardt for working the merchandise table. Rob Jolly for bringing his wonderful collection of Memphis Tech High memorabilia. To all the ladies who baked or brought some of the best desserts ever, thank you. To each and everyone who contributed in some way great or small, YOU are so appreciated. And to the ones who were not able to be there I wish you well and look forward to seeing you at the next reunion.
And I have to thank my husband, Wayne, for his patience and enduring love over the last 6 months.

What a treat attending my 40th High School Reunion this past Saturday! Having it at the school was wonderful. Thanks to all who worked hard on making this happen - everything was great.
