The reunion was a success and we wish you all could have been there, but nevertheless we never had a meet and greet planned for this year's reunion. | I agree that Gene be adding to Tech's famous and outstanding students. Also, another one who should be recognized is J. M. Van Eaton, Class of 1956. He has had an amazing career in the music industry playing the drums for many well know celebrities and I believe he is still very active in his music career. There is a lot of information about him online. |

| Lee Starr passed away on September 4th with his obituary listed on our site. I met Lee in 1967 and he always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Rest in Peace. |

I just spent several hours going through my yearbooks and a couple of my sister's (Rita Howard-Class of 1967), remembering so many great memories and great friends whom I really miss. Looking back, there are things I would have said and done differently, but then I might not be the person I am today.
My thoughts and prayers are with those in the military serving our country and their families. I hope all of you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Enjoy your families and loved ones. Give them that extra hug or let them know how much you love them.
Thank you for the many friendships and wonderful memories. I love you guys!

With respect to the article "New History of Tech", please join me in INSISTING that Gene Gill add his name under the caption"Some Prominent Techites" since he apparently has nothing else to do. What about it Yellowjackets? Start buzzing. Who else among us could be more deserving? All those other "Prominent Techites" couldn't have done this for us.
P.S. What is a Techite? Sounds like an insect. Never heard the term in the 50's. |

Although they called us the worst class Tech ever had, and punish us by not allowing us to have a prom. Hello All:
Gene Gill has just posted pictures from our 2011 Reunion Mixer, which was held on July 16, 2011.
In order to see these pictures you will need to go to the top of the page and place your mouse over the (Tech High). You will then get a drop-down and you will need to click on (Tech Class Roster). A page of dates will appear then click on any year from 1960 to 1966 and another page will appear. On that page click on the bar close to the top of the page that says 1960-1966 PHOTOS. That will bring you to a page that has the last several years of photos posted. Click on any year that you wish to view.
We can never thank Gene Gill enough for all that he does to make this Website so enjoyable and useful.

Our sincere condolences to Janet Rowland Williams (1969) in the passing of her husband Paul.
From The Commercial Appeal: STEPHEN PAUL WILLIAMS, SR.57, of Memphis passed away on June 20, 2011. He was a project superintendent for Insulation and Refractories Services, Inc. for 36 years. He was a member of Thrifthaven Baptist Church. Mr. Williams was a loving person and loved his family, friends and country. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Janet Williams, three sons, Paul Williams, Jr., Ronnie Alberson both of Memphis, and Mark Alberson of Arlington, two daughters, Lynn Nelson of Munford, TN, and Racheal Jones of Memphis; and 10 grandchildren. The family will receive friends and family from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 24 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
