The school motto translates:  "To the stars through striving."  It appears on school rings, the newspaper, the annual, graduation invitations and diplomas, always reminding us to set our ideals above our reach. 

Many people feel satisfied when they set their ideals above their reach, and always strive to achieve it, and when they do they can look back and feel proud of what they have done. 

In other words, hitch your wagon to a star and maybe you'll get somewhere in life.
